ASE: The Chicago Association of Black Storytellers invites you to an afternoon of powerful storytelling, cultural celebration, and community at our Annual Fundraiser, “The African Diaspora Near and Far.”
This year's featured teller is Karen “Queen Nur” Malik, an internationally recognized storyteller, folklorist, and workshop facilitator. Queen Nur will share stories that explore the richness and diversity of the African Diaspora, connecting traditions, histories, and experiences across communities both near and far.
Through the art of oral storytelling, the program offers an opportunity to experience the ways stories preserve cultural memory, carry history from one generation to another, and help us understand the connections that unite the African Diaspora.
Admission: $20 per person
Everyone attending requires a ticket. Seating is limited to 150 guests, so advance ticket purchase is encouraged.
Free street parking and parking in the rear of the building are available. Handicap parking is also available in the rear of the building near the golf course.
